We keep moving forward, opening new doors, and doing new things, because we’re curious and curiosity keeps leading us down new paths.”

WALT DISNEY

There is something about the innocence of a child that when combined with curiosity, it takes them on a journey that just might transform their lives. At 9 years of age, Joan’s curiosity shaped her story which developed into a passion and now she shares a portion of that with her patrons. That story was one where she was intrigued by the aroma of the kitchen and the meticulous effort made in the preparation of a meal.

Her hunger to learn more, drove her curiosity and without even realizing it, she started her early childhood education in the midst of her mother’s kitchen.  Every opportunity she had, would be one for her to ask her mother an important question. She was intrigued by the flavours her mother used to cook. She would ask about the seasonings and herbs.  “Mom, where does the taste come from”, she would ask.  “How do you get certain taste from certain herbs and seasoning?” It was her deeper passion to delve into the sphere of flavours mingled with meats and foods that she was excited to prepare. This set her apart from her other siblings who simple just wanted to learn how to cook.

Meanwhile, in another household, Paul started his journey along the southern coastline of Jamaica in a small community called Rocky Point.  His passion was simulated by the urge to fish, learning from the men and women in the community and the family business. From generation, the mastery of fishing, knowing the types of fish and learning how to prepare them was a staple in the family.  He earned the right of traveling the waves and the adventure of fishing and returning to shore for it to be prepared and sold. The art of preparing fish became his passion. His drive kept him exploring to find the natural blend and flavour that would enhance and add flavour to awaken the delicate texture of the meals he prepared.

Now when two people come together from different schools and are able to combine their knowledge and experience, you just might be drawn to join them in the kitchen and like Joan and Paul, sit at the door and be curious as well. While there might not be enough space at the door, your pallets will be pleasantly surprised by the flavour, aroma and exquisite tender texture of the meal that is presented right before you.

His drive kept him exploring to find the natural blend and flavour that would enhance and add flavour to awaken the delicate texture of the meals he prepared. The kitchen might just be their pleasure to keep that curiosity alive, but more importantly for them both is the curiosity of their patron to come again and share with them.
